Like any sport, swimming competitively takes commitment and dedication. This is why regular attendance is needed to become proficient. While missing a few practices once in a while may be unavoidable, remember that many skipped workouts will have a negative effect on your swimming performance, your meet times will not improve, and can possibly get worse. A committed swimmer is one that comes to team workouts consistently.
